some things last a long time

Today is three years. Sofia still loves me. So that's good.

Tonight we went to Rose Water to celebrate our marital bliss.

Sorry for the lack of photos. Somebody (Sofia) forgot the camera.

Oh, on a totally separate note, I discovered a new website today:

we ride roller coasters into the ocean

Welcome to Six Flags.

El Toro, my favorite of the day.

The lines were long. Sofia disapproves.

If the lines weren’t enough, it was hot as Hades.

The Batman ride was kind of weak.

Peace Out.

Mama and Sofia.

Los Machucas.

Can you tell, we love posing. Jaba hates them. He was protesting these pictures.

Charlie Brown. I don't remember why Sofia was triste.

We're looking at a hammerhead shark. I swear.

Look at Jaba. He's hating life at this moment. Stupid pictures.

On Saturday we went to the mall. I love malls. They had a Barnie's (but it's closing to make room for Starbucks). Some of you may not know this, but I worked for a few years for Barnie's in Orlando.

BW.

Papa's neighbor gave us a bunch of clams. It was our job to clean and shuck em.

Sofia threatened me. I'm saving this for blackmail purposes.

The Great Deicing of the Cake.

The Tallarico's came late Sat. night. They moved Jillian into her new NYC apt.

Everyone helped prepare Sunday's feast.

That's it.

Prophet Down

Everyone’s favorite polygamist was arrested today. If you want to learn more about him and his ilk, read Under the Banner of Heaven. I highly recommend it.

More Great News

Oh Crap.......

¡Que Romantico!

Tomorrow, Sofia and I are planning to visit Six Flags. This is our idea for a romantic getaway. It's our third anniversary next week and we wanted to get out of the city for a weekend. We'll be going over my grandparents for the rest of the weekend. It's not Niagara Falls, but your kind of limited when you don't have a car.

I know, I know, I'm a real Don Juan.

Sorry Plutes

Sorry Pluto.

Poetry Corner with Karl

If moths had eyes, would they be happier?
How do they know they're not dead?
Cavemen hunting for food
but not before they style the hair on their head.
What would last longer in dinosaur times?
A blind man didn't stand a chance.
Not with all them rocks about.
I'd rather be a blind moth.

Summer Fading

On this day, August 22—the 1st anniversary of Sofia y El Machuca—Anthony is leaving us. Loser. We went by to say bye. And to bogart his air conditioner.

To celebrate our anniversary (actually just to get the air conditioner home), we took a cab home.

It was awesome being outside for our commute home.

It was windy on the bridge.

The clocktower in Brooklyn is getting a facelift. They are opening apts there. I would love to live in one of them.

I took this guy's picture and he saw me doing it.

This is Sofia'embarrasseded look.

I wanted a picture of the Gate, but this car got in the way. Stick around here for more years of professional photography like this.

I freikin' slayed the AC. I had to lug this thing up 4 flights. You can't tell from the picture, but it's a beast. I don't think our apt building can supply the power this will need.

Happy Birthday to us! Can you believe it’s been a year? This place is the bomb. I am really surprised we kept this up. It has become an extension of our lives. This is either very sad or quite cool, I’m not sure.

Movie Dork (i stole this title from blackbean)

Everytime I visit apple.com/trailers I see about a gazzilion movies "I have to watch," but the following three are a must as El Machuca.

This one is easy. I'm hardcore, therefore it's obvious I wanna check out American Hardcore.

Been with these dudes since Big Brother; Gotta see Number Two.

Last but certainly not least, I'm gonna be first in line to see Old Joy. With the fine acting of one of my great heroes, Will Oldham, and the music of Yo La Tengo, it's a can't miss.

p.s. I accidentally did this post as sofia, but it's me, EL MACHUCA!!!!
