Where Have All the Good Ice Skaters Gone?

Two days before it snowed it was 77 degrees in Austin. We went for a hike.

A good bit of snow in Austin yesterday. Georgetown, 20 minutes north, got a bunch. A few more photos coming later.

Baptism Weekend

I think I took a total of 10 pics last weekend. But there were plenty of people snapping off. So send me those photos peops. This post is extremely Javier/Santucas heavy. Be warned.

Happy Valentines!

Santi opening his gifts.

Me: Santi, give me that cash. I will hold onto it for you.
Sants: You must be loco Pops!

North Austin

Not near us. Thankfully.

So here is the main event...longest video we've ever put on the blog.

Thirsty Thursday #28

Hopus Ale
by Brasserie Lefebvre SA, Rebecq-Quenast, 1430, Belgium
Style: Belgian IPA
ABV: 8.5%

Last week (or was it two weeks ago, whatever, you get the point) Central Market had that somewhat amazing sale: 20% off all beer. I took the opportunity to buy a bunch of beer I usually would never have bought. Mostly pricier items. I saw this bottle and it caught my eye. Grab it, why not? It is a hefty one, weighing in at 8.5%. I split it with Sofia since I am watching my waste line and I have a bet to wing (which by the way ends in two days, I'll be in a food, beer coma for the following week, just kidding Sofia).

Did you see I just wrote "wing" instead of "win"? I am starving. Visions of buffalo wings and pilsner dancing in my head. Ok, back to the beer.

As you can see by the above stats, I liked it. I'll probably never buy it again. It's a try one and done beer for me. And should be for you too.

Four New Collaborations!

Really cool.

Live Oak Hefeweizen was my Super Bowl beer of choice. So good.

The crowd was glued to the TV. Jesse not so much.

Santiago thrilled as always.

Euro Flashback #1

Flashback to November 3, 2007. We were in Santader, Spain en route to Llanes, where would be staying for a week.

This was our breakfast. It was from the bus station cafe. We had to wake early to catch our bus to Llanes. We were only in Santander for a few hours. We arrived late in the evening. Our hotel was across the street from the bus station. So you can imagine how nice it was. We slept as good as we could, but the cackling prostitutes outside our balcony did not help.

This was one of the beers we drank the night before. The lady at the cafe yelled at me for having it out. She thought I was boozin at 7am.

Two more cafe con leches before boarding our bus.

On to Llanes. I had a cold.

I miss Spain. For more of this, and much more to come: DIGESTING EUROPE. Bookmark it people!
