FLA Visit, Part 2

Dave and I did the light thing. Mom and Jess went shopping.

Don't worry, we had someone watching the kid.

Merry Christmas folks. Sorry about the weak amount of posts. I've been very busy or at least planning on being busy.

FLA Visit, Part 1

This post is going to be a little Vikie G heavy. Sorry.

Gracie and Me chillin' in Papa's new van. Lots of room in there.

The kid is a total Mama's girl.

Honeybutt.

Pouting. What a surprise.

When I returned from FLA Sofia said I had gotten fat. Yeah, no kidding.

Papa was looking good.

Back in Orlando: bath time.

Wild.

While we were in Europe....

Vixie G was working on her moves.

You got any leads....

Today we start our search for a new (and first) car. A pretty big step for us. We are pretty sure about what type we ar looking for, but just need to narrow it down a little further. Anyone have any ideas or helpful info. We want a small four door, maybe five. Similar to the honda fit or toyota yaris.

Today we also began getting our resumes in order. Well Sofia did. I can't locate a decent version of mine so I will probably have to start from scratch. Suckfest...

Back and Ready to Start Something I Guess

First things first.

I had two orders of huevos rancheros and immediately asked who wanted to hit up chickfila.

Well to be honest this was not our first home treat. When we arrived in Newark from Barcelona, late of course, we ran to the Brooklyn Brewery bar in the airport and had one last Brooklyn brew. I did not get any pictures of this, because if we took once second to take a picture we would have missed our connection to TX. I will miss you Brooklyn Brewery. Cristy, Pastor, Homeless, anyone reading this from the North Atlantic region, bring me a couple bottles of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. Much thanks.

Almost home

Our fantasy life is coming to a close. We will soon be back in the real world: buy a car, finding a job, finding a new apt, etc....

We will be in Barcelona for the next few days and then back to the grind.

Our flickr page has almost 600 pictures. As usual the most recent are toward the end of the set:http://www.flickr.com/photos/elmachuca/sets/72157602164711966

Sofia has been waiting forever to use one of those dumb cameras attached to every euro computer. She got her wish. Here it is. Us in Alicante. Live and in your face.

We have been schlepping our bags around all afternoon, because there were no lockers at the train station and we can´t show up at our host´s house till 730.

I think we will get a beer now. I am craving an IPA right about now by the way. You don´t even know.

Thanksgiving Success

Sofia pulled it off. Yesterday we had the full thanksgiving feast. The best thanksgiving in spain I´ve ever had. Seriously.

Tomorrow we are off to Almeria, then Alicante on Monday, followed by Valencia on Wednesday. We will be in Barcelona by Dec. 2 and headed to the states on the 5th.

11.21.2007

Costa del Sol

That is where we are now. Google it. Today it is raining, but it has been nice. On Saturday we start our way up the coast back to Barcelona and will be back in the US in two weeks.

Yesterday we went to Granada for a day trip and saw the Alhambra. Google it.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. What were we thinking...being out of the country on turkey day...it´s my second favorite holiday. But Sofia is planning on cookin´up a feast for us. We will see.

Feel free to call us. Or email us. I am uploading Paris pics now, so keep yr internet eyes open.

El Corte Ingles es mi vida.

Hola a todos.

We are in Madrid and will be here until Thursday. If anyone wants to meet up with us, let us know. The weather is stupendous.....no, no.....Glorious. I am actually starting to miss bad weather. Yesterday we took advantage of free museum sunday and visited the Prado and the Museo de Reina Sofia. Full day, straight up. Today we got a nice late start and took a walking tour of historic Madrid. I learned three new factoids. We had churros and chocolate, a life long dream of mine.

TTYL.

Picos Chicos

Yesterday we took a lil day trip into the mountains, heidi style. The mountains are called the Picos de Europa. In the Picos we went to the lakes at Covadonga. The weather was awesome, meaning sunny and no clouds (pic above is someone elses).

Sorry for not writing back to all of you. We got your bday wishes and email. Thanks so much. See you in 4 weeks.

But today we are making our way to Aix-en-Provence, home of Cezanne.

I have been uploading pics by the way:

Ta me i Eireann

Went to the National Gallery today saw some great art and learned a bit about irish art/history. pretty cool. Then we met up with Stephen Slyman one of our tour guides and he drove us out to Glendalough. It's this really cool lake, made from a glacier. We had a great time. Now we are off to a pub to drink a Guinness or two.

Oh Damn

Apparently this shit is all the rage in Paris.

And the Euro has hit an all time high against the Dollar.

Maybe we should rethink our plans Sofia.

9.19.2007

Shifood

Jason was in town this past weekend to become a monk. No, seriously.

Crepes?

Oh yeah, Anthony was here too. He wanted to get a crepe. But Sofia and I laughed and said "maybe next week in Paris, hahahahahahahhaahha!" Anthony did not laugh.

San Gennaro Festival.

Hot Bar-B-Q! That's a lot of swingin meat.

Oh, cheeeezy!

Skate Video Monday #24

Two of my favorite things: Sonic Youth and Skateboarding.
Video for 100% featuring the 360 flips of Jason Lee.

Are they Puerto Ricans?!?

Javier was in town last weekend for his last visit before we leave NY. We did some stuff. This was at a restaurant where Mike Chu and his Brazillian stomp band were playing. It's also where Javier might have met his future wifey. She was lovely, pissed and crazy, pissed meaning drunk. Very drunk. And very crazy.

Future Mr. Aaron Chamberlain???

We hit up the Gate too.

...when is this guy leaving...

9.15.2007

Dos Botas

As mentioned before, we are making it a point to hit all our favorite joints on the way out of NYC. This night was Two Boots.

Quit lookin at the menu Sofi, you know you always order the fried chicken.

I can never decide. Not.

Chicken Fried Steak please!

9.13.2007

Mu-on-tawk

While in Hamptonia, we also made it out to Montauk, which was pretty much perfect.

Except for the fact that Brian, Steve and Sofia played frisbee for about 4 hours. I only lasted about 3 throws. Boring.

Though Sofia was impressive. She did not spill a drop of that beer.

Natalie tried to get in on the action. She lasted all of five minutes.

Once I purposely through it into the rocks. Ha. Sucker.

We got a photo shoot going also.

Merry Christmas. (This will make sense in about three months).

Spear fishing didn't go to well for Brian. But he looked cool all kitted out.

"Cold, right Stewy?"

Yeah, it was damn cold.

This is turning quite bromantic...

See.

Sofia and Natalie went for piƱa coladas after the beach. Brian, Steve and I went to Orient Point (or something like that). Steve had a ferry to miss. Whoops.
