We were in Pamplona in October. It was beautiful. I've heard that during the San Fermin festival it is an unbearable mess. Regardless I would still love to go one day. Maybe with ole Santiago. First father-son trip. Well, maybe when he is a bit (a lot) older.

Definitely check it out. I was there in '98 as next door neighbor France was winning the World Cup. It was a madhouse but wonderful. I recommend booking a hotel as passing out in a park will get your pockets rifled through, and curling up in an ATM and locking the door will get a line of angry folks screaming at you. The running and the bullfights were great spectacle, and the Basque factions cheer like crazy!
