Another Wedding Weekend
<-----------OVER THERE
Fixin' to leave for Orlando. Pops and Laurie are getting hitched this weekend. I am going to try and do my best to live blog the weekend via my Twitter feed. You can follow it here on the blog.
Just look over there to the left for updates.

Livin' Largeish
Turron Time! Thanks Tere.
Sofia caught me enjoying my Turron and made me share.
Stephen (and Jennifer) had their wedding shower on Saturday. After Pops and Lauries wedding, they are up next.
Sunday=picnic.
The weather was perfect. Pretty much.
But I thought I was gonna have to kill some hippie frisbee golf player who yelled at us. Good thing the food and drink relaxed me.
Sofia ate a lot. An entire watermelon!

Thirsty Thursday #20
Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA
by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Chico, CA
Style: American IPA
ABV: 7.2%
A solid addition to Sierra Nevada’s year round lineup. Definitely a West Coast IPA, with all that entails. Reminiscent Lagunitas IPA or Racer 5. From the brewery:
Sierra Nevada Torpedo Ale is a big American IPA; bold, assertive and full of flavor and aromas highlighting the complex citrus, pine and herbal character of whole-cone American hops.

Bling Blang
Lotto tonight. I am winning. I ain't gonna be like all those other dopes, whose lives go to pot after they win (that's what we all say). No, seriously. Life would be grand. Simple and grand. I had this past Monday off of work. This is a peak into my post-lotto-winning-life. A day in the life of...
Clean up after breakfast. Sofia is at work of course. Remember, I won, not her.
A little grocery shopping.
Blog. I have to do some work.
Maybe have a long lunch and some brews around town.
Skate the rest of the day, before picking up Sofia.
See. Easy.

Geek.
Uh. I ate soo much. Bad move. And then we went crazy and ordered this. Good, but way over the edge. Gluttonous!

Thirsty Thursday #19
Old Chub
by Oskar Blues, Lyons, CO
Style: Scottish Ale (per BeerAdvocate); Scotch Ale (per Rate Beer)
ABV: 8%
Why has it been so long since having this beer. It really is one of my all time favorite beers. I can't find consensus on what style this beer exactly is. I proclaim it a Wee Heavy, but that's mainly because I like saying wee. No matter where you put it in the style spectrum, there is no denying it's delicious darkness. At 8% it'll sneak up on yah, so watch it.

Baby Weekend
Baby shopping. Oh this is going well. I have no idea what I am doing.
Our main researcher.
Sofia insisted on taking this picture. She kept making fun of my little bag. I got a lot to carry around: pocketknife, wallet, phone, camera, etc. All that stuff ain't gonna fit in my pockets.
After a day of shopping we jetted down to San Antonio for some hard core shopping.
And beer!
And to see Jay, John and the other Js. Where are the photos of them? I was too busy stuffing my face with a Red Robin burger.

Having a baby is pretty expensive. Thank God for registries.
Our registries:
Target:

Babies r Us:

I also started a registry at amazon for our little bundle of joy. There's not really a lot of things on there yet. Well, actually there is just one (see below). Who would like to step up and buy this for us? A happy father is a good father.

Super Duper
We went to Tampa for the Super Bowl. Just kidding , these are just some fake-ass Austin palms at the fancy mall.
We also went to IKEA. Looking for ideas for the "baby room."
And then there was a football game on TV. To celebrate I poached some brats in brew.
And threw 'em on the grill.
Party! Sofia wants me to let you know that the guacamole was actually awesome. It may look crappy, but since it was just us, we ate it out of the bowl in which it was made. And it looked better in real life.
Long Live 1992
Do you ever forget how good Nirvana were? I do. Sometimes.
This video should make newer bands embarrased.
