Living in New York City can be so traumatic (granted it isn't a war zone but...) this morning as I put on my makeup I heard a wierd little sound. I looked around thinking-hum what is that. Then I looked up and saw that there was water dripping from my ceiling directly onto my bed. Aaron was in the other room so I called him in and we promptly moved the entire queen sized bed out of the way propped up (and the box spring and we have 2 large rubbermaid underbed boxes filled with clothing along with luggage under the bed so that had to go too). We put 2 receptacles down to catch the drips and called the landlord, super, & handyman. Within 10 minutes the drips (2) had multiplied. Aaron had originally planned to go in early to work for a presentation but decided he would stay home because it was getting worse by the second. I left 1 hour after the drip started and we had roughly 8-10 receptacles on the ground, one portion of the ceiling had peeled away and fallen.
I called Aaron when I got into work (45 minutes later)and he was freaking out because...we hadn't checked and...the leak is ALSO in the FREAKING CLOSET. We have one bloody closet in this place and it happens to be filling with water. So you can imagine-all our freaking towels, clothing (indluding coats and drycleaning, suits etc), shoes EVERYTHING is getting screwed. I can't believe this-I kinda wanna cry but that wouldn't do anything for my ceiling.
Thanks for reading,Sofia
