Cool the Sting with Rock n Roll

USA got spanked yesterday by the Czech Republic. US Soccer ain't yet up to snuff, but at least we can still ROCK harder than any other nation. We still got that and I figure we will never be dethroned.

Sonic Youth today released their umpteenth album, Rather Ripped. For the rest of the workday I will be having a listening party (of 1). I figure this will be in heavy rotation for our Germany trip.

Don't Tread On Me (rock wise at least)!

Ipswich Mosquitoes

are the worst.

Excuse our absence. When we get done slaying the mosquitoes, we'll be back.

Coworkers

This is the IEN Production team. Bob was testing pictures with his new camera. My boss said, "Pretend your holding a drink." As you can see, I'm the only one that played along.

What a dork.

Let's Go Mets!!

Matt called me Sunday morning: I got Met's tickets. Suh-weet.

They are now serving aluminum bottles at Shea. At first I was hesitant, but in the end I loved em. They're 16 oz. too.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! (This was the most fun part of the afternoon.)

The hot dogs were stupendous.

Ah, sooo cute!

Thanks Matt and Whitney. See you soon, right? right?

Odds and Endings

The last few days, my attention has been devoted to getting my new camera up and running. I almost have it tickin' but it still needs some love.

Besides that, I am amped about the World Cup, especially today. Work is really slow and I've been searching for places to watch it in Brooklyn. This is of course before and after we get back from Germany. In case you didn't know we will be in Munich June 22-July 3. Jealous?

We went to the Met's game on Sunday with my cousin Matt and his wife Whitney. Those pictures will go up tonight...

...well maybe. I have a new obsession. Whilst looking for World Cup spots, I stumbled upon http://beeradvocate.com/ . It really is the best website I've come across since stupid Myspace. Beer Advocate is awesome. You can search for bars and beers all over the world, review them also. This is going to be my new hobby....sooooooooo nerdy. Imagine me on the weekends or on trips:

Fellow Reveler: Hey what is that your doing? Aren't you lovin this delicious brewsky?
Me: Why yes I am and that is precisely why I am writing it down in my little notebook. When I get home to the states I am going to write all about this wonderful bar.................................................

You get the point. Just check out the site, if you like beer.

Heart,

Your Little Brooklyn Beer Geek

Subway Orange

Calf check.

If I were a better photographer, this would have turned out much better.

Actually, I rule. Check this one out.

Pierre and Jamy(ie?) were in from Tokyo and we went to this super neat place with a hip glass block wall.

Jamie(y?) and Pierre. and P.Stor.

Sofia was loving the wall.

In the subway on the way home, we noticed Sofia's shirt was the exact same color as the subway seats.

Sweden is My Home

We took the shuttle to IKEA today. After the leak business, I rearranged the room and our desk became a beast. I sold it. We needed a new one.

Whilst there we had Swedish meatballs. I liked them.

nasty, right?

Sofia had em took, but later regretted it.

The best fifty cents I ever spent.

U-Ricoh!!

I know it, you know it, we all know it. I'm a fan of free stuff. So when my boss offered to GIVE me a mint Ricoh XR-P, I jumped at the offer.

Now I just need a lens. Anyone out there got a lens I can buy or better yet, have.

GIMME GIMME GIMME!

Staten Island Mistake

Memorial Day: Let's take a bike ride in Staten Island.

Waiting for the ferry.

The ferry. Little did we know, this was to be the highlight of going to Staten Island.

We made it. A lot of SI looks like this.

And a lot looks like this.

The hills sucked. They never ended. Look at my face. That is not me having fun. We should have stayed in Brooklyn.

Let's get out of here.

Nice ending to a hueva ride.

Who let that 14 year old into the bar?

P.S. Staten Island wasn't as bad as I'm putting on, but I will probably never go back.
