Schmoscars

There was some good stuff this year. I'll probably always watch the oscars. Bu nothing will ever touch this:

Still miss you Elliott.

Saint Marcus

Leti came to Austin for the weekend. We met up with Eric in San Marcos to return her to him.

Wild times.

We went to Root Cellar for lunch. Great food, great beer by Darkside Fermentation.

I love this photo.

What a face.

Then we went for a walk down to the river.

San Marcos River.

Sofia hates the weeds.

Santi made a mad dash for the playground. And that is it.

Green Apple

Cristy started a blog. About time. The address is www.gimmegeens.com but the name of the blog is Top of the Apple. Either way . . . foodstuff.

Pond is Near

This weekend was perfect weather-wise. So what did we do: Park and BLIZZZZARDS BIOTCH!

STOMP!

Sofia, slightly ashamed, enjoying her blizzard.

Duly noted.

One Ollie = $10,000

Easy. Do you think those girls were more impressed with the over 45 inch ollie or the TEN Gs?

Red Cross Gets Slizzerd

This is funny.

Euro Beer #5 - Messrs Maguire

In fall of 2007 my wife and I traveled through Europe for 10 weeks. We ate a lot of food and drank of a lot of beer (and wine). Not enough food, not enough beer. Almost done with Dublin:

Euro Beer #5 - Messrs Maguire

This is a good example of when we did not drink enough beer. I had one pint and Sofia had a half pint. The short one is the Haus Pils. My big one is a stout. Nothing great, but good enough to have another, which we did not. Actually, the reason we did not get another one was because we had a bus to catch. The bus was taking us to boat that would tug over to England, then back on the bus, on to London. It was an all night ordeal. It was interesting, but next time I'm flying. Also, next time I am at Messrs Maguire I am having more than one pint.

See that needle between the boring building and the dome, that's the Stiffy on the Liffey. Stiffy.

Video Star

Santi's videos are more fun than his photos. Here are two from his time in Brownsville last weekend:

Dancing at the Gap.

Jumping at the mall. Notice on that second hop, BOTH feet leave the ground. Next up, ollies.

Scorcher

I remember this being a lot cooler looking. This thing was bad ass. Pops and I lost it running it off dirt hills.

Austin Snow Day

Crappy photos, took them with the computer camera. I saved some snowballs for Santiago to throw when he gets back from Brownsville.

Euro Beer #4 - Mulligan's

In fall of 2007 my wife and I traveled through Europe for 10 weeks. We ate a lot of food and drank of a lot of beer (and wine). Not enough food, not enough beer. Working our way through Dublin still:

Our host and friend told us the best pint in Dublin is at Mulligan's. Good enough for us. I searched later and this seems to be a popular choice for the best pint. I think it's my friend's spot just because it's only a few blocks from his flat. Still, great pint(s).

Mulligan's is a killer pub. It reminds me a lot of Bull McCabe's here in Austin. Go to Bull McCabe's. It's on Red River.

Goodnight White Stripes

The White Stripes are through, but they will live forever on youtube.

Morning Quinoa

It's the new oatmeal. This was a mix of quinoas, mostly red. Being pseudo-vegans you start to eat lots of different things. Some good, some not so awesome. This is pretty awesome.
